Hi, I’m Jonathan, a senior industrial designer, currently living in London, UK and working for ghd; a UK based brand which develops and commercializes consumer electronics for hair styling and beauty.
10+ years of experience working in design agencies in areas of Industrial Design such as office/home furniture, exoskeletons, soft goods, consumer electronics, wearables, and others. From the beginning of my career I’ve engaged with practically all phases of product development; from sketches all the way to production sign-off.
Started my path in Industrial Design at HABTO Objetos, a design studio focused on furniture and products for schools and universities.
After Habto I worked as an industrial designer at Indio da Costa AUDT, specialized in industrial design, transportation, architecture and urbanism located in Rio de Janeiro. There I took part in the lead design team for Rio de Janeiro’s VLT Light Rail Tram (tram, platforms and urban furniture) and other projects for home furniture, vending machines, electric scooters, ceiling fans, and many others.
I then joined the team at Sapetti, a boutique design consultancy based in Switzerland with clients in Europe, USA and Brazil. At Sapetti I have worked on noteworthy projects such as both Chairless Chair exoskeletons designed for Noonee AG.
And lastly, before ghd I was working as an industrial designer at LAYER, a London based design consultancy studio.
Currently lead designer on 2 major projects at ghd. Also introduced Miro and Figma to the business which has helped with project collaboration, ideation and organization within a recently adopted Agile method of working.
